Recruitment Process
01
Step One: Recruitment
During recruitment, you'll have the chance to attend a variety of events on and off campus to get to know our sisters and learn more about Delta Alpha Theta. Some events are hosted by our chapter, while others include other Greek organizations, giving you the opportunity to experience Greek life and see if DAT is the right fit for you. At the end of recruitment, selected participants will be offered a bid.
If you're interested in recruitment, simply fill out the form on our Contact Us page to get in touch with a member of our sorority.
02
Step Two: Bid Day + Rizono
After recruitment, you'll find out if you've received a bid to join Delta Alpha Theta. If you accept your bid, you'll be matched with a Big Sister who will mentor and support you throughout your journey in DAT. You'll also attend Rizono, a ceremony where you officially become an associate member of the sorority. As a pledge, you are committing yourself to Delta Alpha Theta as you begin your journey toward active membership.
03
Step Three: Pledging
As a pledge, you'll attend new member classes where you'll learn about Delta Alpha Theta's history, traditions, and values alongside your pledge class. Classes are currently held on Sundays over the course of four to five weeks. This is your opportunity to build friendships, get to know our active sisters, and prepare for active membership. At the end of the pledge period, you'll write a test covering everything you've learned. To become an active sister, you'll need to achieve a score of at least 75%.
04
Step Four: Becoming a Sister
The final step is Anthima, our initiation ceremony, where you'll officially become an active sister of Delta Alpha Theta. Welcome to the sisterhood!
Member Expectations
Being a member of Delta Alpha Theta means taking an active role in our chapter. We value members who support one another, participate in our events and initiatives, and help make our sisterhood a positive place for everyone.
01
Attendance
Active members are expected to attend our weekly chapter meetings, which are held every Sunday at the University of Windsor. Regular attendance helps everyone stay informed, involved, and connected with the chapter.
04
Optimist International
As a Delta Alpha Theta sister, you'll also be a member of DAT Optimist, our Optimist International club. Members are encouraged to actively participate in Optimist meetings, which are held every other Sunday at the University of Windsor, as well as take part in service projects and initiatives that support our campus and local community.
02
Philanthropy
Community involvement is an important part of being a Delta Alpha Theta sister. Members are encouraged to participate in the service initiatives and volunteer opportunities we organize throughout the year, and to make an effort to attend and give back whenever they can.
05
Sisterhood
Sisterhood is built by the effort each member puts into it. We encourage our sisters to be supportive, welcoming, and respectful, and to help create an organization where every woman feels valued, accepted, and included.
03
Academic Standards
Academics are one of Delta Alpha Theta's core values. While we don't have a minimum GPA requirement, we expect every member to put effort into their studies and do their best. We encourage one another to stay motivated, share resources, and support each other throughout the school year.
